I have been involved in the fitness industry for just over 20 years, with my primary passion growing up being football. I was playing at a competitive level until an injury to my ACL forced me away from the pitch and into the gym. At first, it was part of my rehab and keeping myself mentally/physically active. After a few months of training I caught the ‘bug’ and switched to training fulltime. Over the years I started to see significant increase in muscle mass and strength. Through my training journey I learnt a lot about different training methods, techniques and nutrition required to get a desired physique. I enrolled myself into various nutrition and fitness trainers’ courses so I could learn and understand more about the science behind the Body.

Through the years of training journey, I managed to get into the best shape of my life and on October 2014 I decided to enter the ‘Miami Pro fitness UK’ fitness model competition where I finished 2nd place in my category and received my pro status with the federation. It was my first time competing for the experience but came away with such a buzz from being on stage that it gave me the confidence to compete again. Fast forward 6 years and I managed to compete in 10 Bodybuilding Competitions nationally and internationally. Although I have managed to secure many titles in these competitions, my most memorial moment was securing the UKBFF (United Kingdom Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation) Welsh Championship title in 2016.

Everyone knows that training is a big part of achieving an appealing physique, but along with it, you need the commitment, adequate rest, the right nutrition and supplementation. For me this is where I am very grateful to be part of the JBC family, who continuously work hard to support and guide me through my training journey. With their nutritional and supplement support I am looking to continue my fitness journey and be a positive role model for others coming up in the fitness industry.

Mark Bennett

Olympic silver medallist and Scotland international centre Mark Bennett joined the club on three-year deal in the summer of 2017.

Bennett missed the first half of the 2017/18 campaign through injury, but returned with a bang as he scored a dramatic winning try - his first for the club - in the 29-24 victory over Leinster in February 2018.

The centre was back to his explosive self to begin the 2018/19 season, but injury struck once again as he suffered a hamstring tear against Ulster in only the second match of the campaign.

Bennett worked tirelessly to return to full fitness however, and finished in the starting line-up for the final seven fixtures of the campaign.

On the international stage, the centre made his Scotland debut in the 41-31 victory over Argentina at BT Murrayfield in 2014.

The Ayrshire-born centre was nominated for the 2015 World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year after impressing in the Rugby World Cup, scoring three tries in four games.

Bennett has also tasted success in the abbreviated game and was selected for the Team GB Rugby Sevens side at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, and returned home with a silver medal.

The centre is a product of the Scottish Rugby age-grade system, having begun his career at Cumnock before switching to Ayr ahead of signing his first professional deal at Warriors.
